1. It would be super helpful, if an object was automatically assigned to a favorite once it was assigned to a subfavorite.
Soon Favorites will receive the ability to show files in subdirectories. So you will able to watch files in subcategories.
2. Choose any favourite from list.
Thanks for idea – I’m adding this to wishlist
4. … So you can have two or even more thumbnails generated by PM.
PM allows linking multiple thumbnails to one asset during batch rendering.
Also as I understand you want what last rendered thumbnails used for default preview instead existing preview. But existing preview must also keep in the asset’s gallery. I think that this is also possible.Thanks for your ideas!

Very interesting to read the wishlist. In the answers of Alex I learned something new about Project Manager. My wish would be a help file, which holds more information. The current one is more or less a list of features and functions. I would like more information because not all of the user interface is self-explaining.
Another wish: In the Material browser you see some information for the selected material on the bottom of the windows (name, type, bitmaps…)
Could you please add some information on the saved modifiers? Thanks a lot for this great utility!

I would find excellent tutorials on how to organize the library and look for lost maps, this would help the user a lot.

loving the auto create material from dragging in a bunch of textures to the slate material editor.
This is a real timesaver when creating pbr materials.
As you are support vray bitmap in vray 5 would be nice to have the material auto build by using for example the diffuse map as the mapping source to drive the tiling of the other bitmaps. They will have the same tiling in most cases.
This video shows what I mean at about 4 mins 30 seconds in.
There are also some other good randomisation tips in there that might be good to auto create.
Thanks for all the good work.

Thanks for the great idea!
I’ll add this feature to the nearest version.

Done!
Try version 3.12.25
Now Project Manager supports mapSource for V-Ray PBR materials and displays a list of modifiers linked to the material.
You can download it from the dashboard.
Auto-updater will be triggered in a few days if there’s no critical issue found.
Thanks for your ideas!

Hi Alex
When im re-saving a model, from the explorer the save/export selected window give a object name saving option, so if i want to replace my model i have to copy the name from my file in the folder so i can re render the thumbail with the new changes, is it possible to put on the file name, the actual name of the file so it automatically replaces it?

Hi Alexander,
I cant read everything. So I am sorry if that you have it answered.
Can we have simple fast merge. Just like 3ds max merge but to select all objects and place them in a group in the 0.0.0 . The standard merge needs to do more clicks and regular merge is slow with big files .
Would that be possible – like Fast Merge or Speed Merge option .
Tnx,

Hi Alexander.
So, I’d like to ask if there is any way to force Batch&Relink to save elements when generating thumbnails.
Here’s the thing:
As a 3D modeler, I’d like to use Project Manager to keep my models organized, but I’d also like to use it to generate preview images from several models without to have to open each file.
I know that’s perfect possible to render files right now, but there’s no way to save elements too.
So that’s why I’d like to have a way to save elements together, so that I could make some adjustments later.That product (https://www.splinedynamics.com/product/overnight-batch-render/) has the ability to save the elemets and so on, but I’d have to open the file, place the light setup, place my model, decor stuff. The only thing this thing automate is to render several files and save elements.
Batch&Relink is a lot more powerfull, since I can set a custom studio setup to render my files.
I know that’s not the main function for wich you product where developed.
But I’d like to know if you could add this funcions:
Save Elements and save those files in a specific path. The name of files should be get by any atrributes (object name, for instance).Would it be easier to add by script?

This feature can be added using API
Create render-preset with desired render-elements and add the script for setup desired paths to files.
if BatchPostScript != undefined and BatchPostScript.GetMode() == #BeforeRender do (
/* turn on render-elements */
/* set desired path to render-element */
)
