I rename a bunch of objects, then drag and drop them into the viewport to use, but why aren’t their names changed when I use Advanced File Renamer? The old versions worked fine, but the versions v3.35.85 – v3.36.10 don’t rename as expected. Please check for me. Thanks team.

The Project Manager is designed to maintain the original structure of objects during import, including their names. This behavior prevents changes to object names to ensure consistency across files.
However, when models containing multiple objects are imported using the drag-and-drop method, these objects are grouped together, and the group name is assigning by the file name.
This could explain why you’re seeing the previous names even after using Advanced File Renamer. - November 8, 2024 at 18:16 #43039Ho Viet Bao MinhParticipantPosts: 2Threads: 2Joined: Sep 2024
I will redownload the lower version to get the functionality I need. Thanks for your reply.

Using older version is not good idea.
Instead you can use the API
Here you can find a ready script for renaming objects after merging (see the last example script)
https://3d-kstudio.com/faq-cat/maxscript-api/#api_for_asset_manager
Save it as file with extension “ms” and place to startup scripts
