      Hello,

I’m using the latest demo version to try this tool and this behaviour is really undesirable for me and I can’t see anywhere to turn it off.

I saw there was a thread about this 2 years ago, and the suggestion was to use the Default 3ds Max Dialog and that will merge it without grouping. That doesn’t work when you select multiple items at once.

Is there a reason for importing objects as groups when you use drag and drop? Is it possible to add an option to turn it off?

      Thank you

    Plugin version: 3.14.32
    3ds Max version: 2021

      Hello!

You can merge the model without creation a group by using “Default 3ds Max Dialog” or by double-click on the file or you can hold the SHIFT key when dragging the model into the viewport.

If you use the SHIFT key you receive a dialog with the ability to chose an action. Just choose a “Merge File” item.

All these options allow merging one file per time

      Hi Alexander,

I’m aware of  SHIFT key, but it doesn’t work if you want to merge more than 1 file. I want to select 3 or 4 files and drag them into the viewport, but I don’t want to ungroup them every single time.

Was that your final answer Alexander? There will be no possibility of importing multiple items without groups?

      I answered above
      Yes, you can, but:

All these options allow merging one file per time

Thank you Alexander. Yes you did answer but it’s not what I asked.

Is it possible to add a feature where I can select 5 models inside project manager and drag them to the viewport without creating groups? Not one file per time, but 5 per time.

In this case, by default, this feature isn’t supported.
But you can try to use the example script ‘Remove group head after merge.ms’.
You can find it in the directory ‘ProjectManager_3\presets\API examples\’.
