FilePathFinder helps you with operations related to external files in your scene.
(eg. textures.IES files, pointcache files, Vray Proxies, MentalRay Proxies and other plug-ins that work with external links.)
It allows you to collect, sort, rename, relink your external files and search for missing assets.
Unlike some other scripts of its kind,
FilePathFinder
Differentiates Real Missing files and files with not correct paths.
(Identified in the Asset Tracking as Found.)
No need to search for such files.
Path to the such files are fixed for a single click.

Preferences
The option to set script’s operations when equal names of copied and existing files appear:
Do not copy file (change path to the existing one Keep old path)
Use the existing file in the folder (to change the link of the new file so, that it would use the existing file in the folder Set new path)
Copy and rename file (AutoRename)
Extend the dialog window with the reduced files’ images, information on size in pixels and bytes, date of creation and modification of each file.
The user will be given all the variations of actions, except for the user’s opportunity to rename, rewrite
or abort the script’s process manually Ask User)
When equal names of 3dsMax files appear, this menu will pop up, independently from script’s pre-settings.
Clearing Material Editor from the unused materials in manual or automatic modes while searching and collecting files.
The opportunity to create Backup for scenes.
Choosing objects by their connection with files; opening the groups which contain these objects, if needed.
Collecting textures, which contain indicated files, into Material Editor.
Quick and comfortable correction of files’ paths with the Found* status.

The terms Missing, Found and Ok are analogue of standard dialog of 3dxMax and Asset Tracking and have next meaning: Missing: The links to absent files in indicated path. Marked with light-crimson in script’s interface. Found :The links to absent files in indicated paths, but found by 3dxMax by one of paths registered in User Path. Marked with beige in script’s interface. Ok:Correct links to files. Marked with white in script’s interface.

Software environment requirements:
The script operates in next 3dsMax versions: 9Sp1+*, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011. (32 and 64 bits) *Attention: in order to work in 3dsMax version 9 you need to load and install the free plugin Avguard MAXScript Extension Package.
Installation and generation of id-file:
Install.
Download archive with script.
Unpack archive on a hard disk
Start 3ds Max
In Maxscript menu choose «Run Script»
Choose FilePathFinder.mzp for installation.
Follow the instructions on screen.
Generate the identification file
In order to finish the installation process restart 3dsMax.
In menu Customize>> Customize User Interface>> Category>> Track choose the script and draw it to the Panel of Instruments.
Reception of License Key.
To generate a license file I need to get your identification file.
After Payment send identification file to e-mail: support@3d-kstudio.com.
License file will be sent to you within 48 hours.
Put License file to the folder with script FilePathFinder or
run script FilePathFinder_Registration.mse and press button “Apply Key File”.
